Happened and happening

Hey all, thought I’d better update you on stuff I’ve been doing recently…

I played two very enjoyable gigs in London in August and September – at The Bedford and The Lantern Society – and with any luck I’ll be back in the big smoke soon. I also played my first in-store set for Truck Store, which was a fun, laid back afternoon. The guys at Truck managed to get me on the bill with RT-Zed a few days later too. Steve ‘Stiff Little Fingers’ Grantley’s new act were a lot of fun to play with and, who knows, we may cross paths again…

You may notice the winners of this year’s Mr. Awesome competition pictured above. In fact, this is Dava Waterhouse from the excellent Swindlestock (who I’ve now played with several times and will be again soon) and yours truly flanking the great Butch Hancock. We caught Butch’s show in Oxford, a great night as the man is both a dying breed of songwriter and one of the remaining links to a wonderful era of Texas music. And he poses for photos too.

As for me, there’s loads of stuff coming up before the end of the year. Highlights include a songwriter’s circle night at the Port Mahon, an exclusive Americana night for Ramjam and a great lineup at the Bullingdon including Tom Hingley from Inspiral Carpets. Make sure you check out my gigs page regularly so as not to miss anything.

Catch you soon.
