Hey people, you may have been wondering what had happened to me since my weekend playing at the Country2Country festival in London, as I haven’t posted an update since then. Fear not, as I have mostly been preparing for, and participating in, my third trip to Austin, TX.
After visiting my brother in New Mexico, I spent two weeks in and around Austin, seeing some great music at some of my favourite old haunts. As well as locals like Dale Watson, Robert Earl Keen, Alan Haynes and Redd Volkaert, I saw a few out of towners, like great up and coming band Whitey Morgan and the 78’s. I was lucky enough to bump into Whitey at a Dale Watson gig (embarrassingly, I was wearing his t-shirt):
So anyway, fun was had by all and I’m now totally knackered. But the good news is I’m back, and gigging is on the horizon. This Saturday night I’m playing at Witney Music Festival’s big show on the Leys in town. I’m playing on the Missing Duck stage at 8pm. Don’t miss it! As the festival continues, I’ll also be playing at Cogges Farm Museum at 12pm on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May on a bill with acts like Matt Midgley, Welcome To Peepworld and STEM. Not to be missed.
As you may have already gathered, I am pleased to confirm I’ll be playing the Oxford Punt festival on Wednesday 8th May. The night traditionally features a number of bands at several Oxford city centre venues playing simultaneously. I’m playing the White Rabbit at 9.30pm. Loads of great music going in close proximity that night, so don’t get sidetracked watching any of them other acts!!
These are just a taster, all my other upcoming gigs can be found on the new-look gigs page here. This is constantly updated so make sure you don’t miss any when I’m out your way…
That’s it for now. I hope to update you people with more news soon, not least concerning my planned new album. See ya soon!
