It’s almost February…

…and that means more great gigs from your favourite West Oxfordshire country troubador. And some down right exciting ones too.

Coming up on the 8th I’m pleased to be part of a singer-songwriter night at the Port Mahon, featuring Erica Conway and the irrepressible Jess Hall. This will be my first gig for either of the co-hosts, Tertium Quid and Irregular Folk. And it looks like a good one. Then just a few days later, on the 12th, I’ll yet again be back in London (yes, they’re sick of me) for a show at The Islington in, er, Islington. Other acts to be announced.

Later in the month things start to get (even more) interesting. On Thursday 21st I’m proud to be supporting Fred Eaglesmith, legendary Canadian songsmith at The Bullingdon. Fred has worked with some big names (Mary Gauthier, Chris Knight) and had his songs recorded by some even bigger names (Toby Keith, Alan Jackson), and I’m grateful to be in the fold, if just for one night. See www.empty-rooms.com for more details.

I’ll be continuing with this trend of exalted company the very next night – the 22nd – when I’ll be playing the Ram Jam Club in Kingston with Michael Weston King. Michael is a veteran British songwriter whose proudest moment came when the one and only Townes Van Zandt recorded his song ‘Riding The Range’. Michael is also now one half of the brilliant country duo My Darling Clementine. Don’t miss it.

So as you can see, things are busy. I hope to have some more good news for you people in the next few weeks (gig-related and otherwise), so stay tuned. Don’t forget to check back here for more updates from the hillbilly trail…
