Hey folks, good news: I’ll be playing the O2 next month. As you may be aware, the Nashville pop circus – err, I mean ‘country’ music scene – is sending some of its biggest names to appear over the weekend of 16th and 17th March at the O2 for the C2C: Country To Country event. Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill and Leann Rimes are among the headliners.
However, in a moment of weakness the corporate suits from Music City appear to have allowed some infiltrators into the party. Along with Drumfire Records artists Dean Owens (who recently released the superb Johnny Cash tribute album ‘Cash Back’) and The Good Intentions, I’ll be playing on three stages that will be dotted around the concourse outside the main arena on both days. With an estimated 60,000 people visiting the venue over the weekend, it’s pretty fair to say there’ll be a decent crowd.
And on the subject of faceless corporate organisations, I’ll also be playing the O2 Academy in Oxford this coming Friday (15th Feb), as support for the brilliant Johnny Cash tribute band CASH, along with my old pals Swindlestock. Tickets £5.00 (half price) on the door if you mention my name!!
